How Northwise handles your data

Start on your device

Choose “Continue without account” in the app to explore sample records. Local mode keeps your financial records in that browser.

Sign in for cloud storage

Use an account when you want your saved cloud records available across devices. Local records stay separate.

Export your data from Settings. Use privacy masking when you want to hide amounts on screen.

Do I need to connect my bank?

No. You can explore sample data and enter records manually. Bank connections are optional. During the closed test most accounts connect to Plaid’s sample bank, and a small number of invited testers can link one real bank. Real bank access is not generally available yet. How bank connections work

Can I use Northwise without an account?

Yes. Open the app and choose “Continue without account.” Your local records stay in that browser, so export a copy before clearing browser storage or changing devices.

What does Ask Nova do?

It helps explain the records you provide and can suggest categories or goal drafts for you to review. Local mode uses on-device rules. In signed-in mode, service responses use a financial summary and your conversation. AI answers can be mistaken; check the details before acting.

Does Northwise move my money?

No. Northwise helps you track records and explore plans. Saving a goal or debt plan does not transfer money, make a payment, or change a bank balance.

Where can I learn how everything works?

The Help centre walks through every screen, from the first three minutes to privacy controls and fixes for common problems.

Is the website my finance workspace?

Your accounts and saved records live in the separate Northwise app. Use “Open app” to sign in or continue on your device.

A small check-in can be a good start.
